The town of Geseke you can find in the eastern area of the Soest district, on the historically important army and trade road ‘Hellweg’, currently Federal road 1 (Bundesstraße 1). Trains in Geseke are reliable, and the Dortmund-Kassel line is easy to catch. Car drivers use the Autobahn (Motorway) A44 Dortmund-Kassel and of course the B1. Life in Geseke

Geseke has all the advantages of a modern town. There is reasonably priced accommodation and good value-for-money building plots available, in advantageous places. There are all the types of school up to the Gymnasium (equivalent to a Grammar School in England) and through further education developments it attracts additional students. State acknowledged schools for highly gifted children (Grundschule und Gymnasium- Primary school and Grammar school) are very good in this range of education. The social infrastructure is exemplary, with a hospital, many old people's homes, and institutions for children. The town of Geseke has a good culture programme with many theatre performances, concerts and numerous special events. Also, those with interests in sports will find ample opportunities to be active. Tennis courts and tennis halls, soccer pitches, athletics grounds, sport halls, a keep-fit group, shooting-club, open-air swimming pool and small swimming hall are available for use. Numerous clubs offer the opportunity to be sporty, musical, cultural and they operate well. There are also the traditional folk festivals held in Geseke: ‘Gösselkirmes’, ‘Hexenstadtfest’ and ‘Schützenfest’.

Economic Location of Geseke

Industry, craft, business, services and landscape are presently the picture of the working world. Many of the important contractors know and use the advantages of the location of Geseke, with their economically and geographically favourable position, in the middle of an intact environment. Many old half-timbered houses of the 16/17th century have been restored well here in Geseke.
