Geseke has all the advantages of a modern town. There is reasonably priced
accommodation and good value-for-money
building plots available, in advantageous places. There are
all the types of school up to the
Gymnasium (equivalent to a Grammar School in England) and through further education developments it attracts additional students. State acknowledged
schools for highly gifted children (Grundschule und Gymnasium- Primary school and Grammar school) are very good in this range of education. The
social infrastructure is exemplary, with a
hospital, many
old people's homes, and
institutions for children. The town of Geseke has a good
culture programme with many theatre performances, concerts and numerous special events. Also, those with interests in
sports will find ample opportunities to be active. Tennis courts and tennis halls, soccer pitches, athletics grounds, sport halls, a
keep-fit group, shooting-club,
open-air swimming pool and
small swimming hall are available for use. Numerous
clubs offer the opportunity to be sporty, musical, cultural and they operate well. There are also the traditional folk festivals held in Geseke: ‘
Gösselkirmes’, ‘
Hexenstadtfest’ and ‘
Schützenfest’.
